Provence Coast

Provence

Provence merges with the sea where the delta of the river Rhone flows into the mysterious salt marshes of the wild Camargue. This not an area for beach activities but more suited to the ornithologist as the famous pink flamingos can be found in the wetlands amongst other birdlife.

The Provencal city of Marseille is situated on the coastline. This multi-cultural city is alive with vitality and as it is centred around a 26th century old port, it is oozing with atmosphere and history. Marseille is the second largest city in France and it manages to combine antiquity, seafood, museums and history to create a dynamic venue of culture and interest. For gastronomical delight treat your tastebuds to the seafood served at the fresh fish restaurants around the Old Port.
